Estonia's eligibility rules are unusually clear: prove that you work location-independently using telecommunications technology and that your income comes from outside Estonia.
Eligible work types
- Employment contract with an employer registered outside Estonia.
- Business activity through a company registered outside Estonia.
- Freelance or consulting services mostly for clients with permanent establishments outside Estonia.
Income
Applicants must show gross monthly income of at least €4,500 during the six months before application. This is a higher floor than many European nomad programs, but the documentation is relatively straightforward if your income is stable.

- Completed visa application form.
- Valid passport and passport photo.
- Employment contract, company ownership proof, or freelance client contracts.
- Employer letter confirming remote work, if employed.
- Proof of income for the prior six months.
- Health insurance meeting standard Estonian visa rules.
- State fee payment and any VFS service requirements where applicable.
